HDD and Microtunneling Case Study Webinar

(Hosted by the Collections Committee)

HDD and Microtunneling Case Study: Small Diameter Trenchless Installation of Water Utilities

Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and microtunneling are trenchless pipleline construction technologies that have been used successfully for the installation of potable water lines and wastewater force mains. This technology has been proven to be effective and is often considered when either open-cut or tunneling techniques would be problematic. This webinar will focus on several case studies for HDD and microtunneling and the different applications for each. The webinar will provide an overview of the trenchless technologies, requirements of pre-design geotechnical surveys, pipeline material alternatives, design topics, construction impacts, risk management and other important aspects of HDD.
